Catwoman

This movie is nicely directed, and Halle Berry (Gothika) actually does a very good job - when she's meek mild Patience Phillips.   Then it goes.... berserk.    It's not a typical comic book movie.  Peter Parker (in Spiderman) and nearly every other comic book superhero is mild mannered and meek in real life, but becomes this wonderous identity later.   Catwoman gets... blurred.   She becomes very schizoprenic - sort of Catwoman all the time and sort of not.   Her day to day appearance changes to be more Catwoman-ish and she can't control her mouth or her actions.  Very weird.

Sharon Stone is nicely evil in this, a role that fits her very naturally I think.   The story is so thin you could hold it up and watch the screen through it.   There is a strong sexual theme, especially dominatrix stuff, in this movie so young viewers I don't know about.    It's supposed to be Pro-Strong Woman stuff, but it's more about women being flat out crazy and mixed up and psycho I think.

Where is Eartha Kitt when you need her?  Or Julie Newmar??   God help us if they try a Batman meets Catwoman thing in the future.

This wasn't hard to sit through, it was pleasant enough, but we forgot it as soon as we threw away the empty popcorn bag.

Pueblo Tinseltown - did a great job this morning with the popcorn and the nice folks there.

Overall Rating - a 2.     Did I go to the movies today?
