Fahrenheit 9/11

We always say why see 2 movies in a weekend when you can see 3 instead? We were thrilled that Fahrenheit 9/11 opened, and even though it did NOT come to Pueblo it was in several theaters in Colorado Springs. So on Sunday we piled in the car - me, Robert, Josh (24) and Sarah (15). I think we had a real good representation of most demographic groups here.

We have enjoyed Michael Moore in his movies and tv show - Roger & Me, Bowling for Columbine, etc. He's funny, over the top a bit but his stuff always has some truth to it.

In this movie he made us laugh many times, and actually made me cry. I pride myself on not crying at movies. Ever. I just don't. They are movies, they're not real - so I don't get so caught up with them that I really cry. This one was different. He got me.

This is the only movie we've ever been at where the entire theater erupted into applause TWO times! Not just a splattering here and there - I mean it would have been a standing ovation if it had been live theater. Amazing.

There are things revealed about Bush and his family's relationship with the Bin Laden's. There is footage of soldiers in Iraq. There is a wide range of important issues covered. One thing to be sure of is that this film deals with the day of 9/11 with great sensitivity. You will NOT relive the planes hitting the towers or be submitted to all of that pain again. For that I was grateful.

Michael Moore did a lot here - if nothing else it's getting widespread mainstream coverage and will cause the population to question more than what they see on the sterilized news each night. And if you're ready to know more - go to http://www.infowars.com Alex Jones made a real documentary about 2 years ago that goes into alot more detail about Bush and the events leading up to 9/11. His film is called 9/11 - Road to Tyranny and it's very interesting!

Overall Rating - a 4. This is a movie everyone should go see.

The theater was Tinseltown on Circle in Colorado Springs. A nice really LARGE theater - about double the size of the one in Pueblo.
