Suspect Zero
We have been waiting for this one to come out! We both have tried our hand at technical remote viewing in the past, and being a fan of Art Bell we've heard Major Ed Dames for years talk on Art's show about remote viewing. Fascinating subject. Major Dames acted as technical consultant on this film, as well as play the part of the remote viewing instructor (a brief part).
We also think that Ben Kingsley is an amazing actor - that impression was reinforced after today. He is just such a great actor. Not only as Ghandi, but if you want to see what he can really do go rent Sexy Beast. It showcases Kingsley.
This movie kept us guessing, which is a good thing, and moved along, another good thing. It dealt with a fascinating subject that we've never seen discussed before, and it gave a bit of insight into what happens if you learn to turn ON the intuitive skill of remote viewing - can you get to the place where you cannot turn it OFF? I believe so.
Carrie-Anne Moss (Matrix) has a pretty minor part here, as a sort of partner sort of love interest, we're not real sure what character. She could have been played by just about anyone, it seemed like a sleepwalking job for her.
I'm not a fan of Aaron Echhart (Paycheck) and he's technically the 'star' of this movie. At least his face is on the screen the majority of the time, but I think he also could have been anyone. It's Ben Kingsley's movie. And the real star is remote viewing.
Besides Kingsley, the standout performance for us was a man who plays the Professor that Echhart's character interviews. He gives information about Kingsley's character. This professor is a wonderful actor - we thought we could get his name off Internet Movie Database (IMDB.com) but I can't find him. That's a shame, because he did a fabulous job with a small piece. Made us wish he was in the movie in a larger role.
I think I'm going to go back to learn more about remote viewing now. Maybe I can get to where I can watch new movies while sitting in my house!
This was fun. It was a good day at the movies!
Popcorn was very fresh - Pueblo Tinseltown was in good form today.
Overall rating - 3!
