The Grudge

Sarah Michelle Gellar (Scooby Doo) is not one of my fav actors - in fact she is just creepy in this movie, especially in scenes where she has no reason to be creepy! But it helps here - it adds to your overall feeling of unease and creepiness in this movie.

Bill Pullman (Lake Placid) does a real good job in this one, as does the mostly Japanese cast. This movie is a remake of a Japanese movie, the plot has been changed a bit. Here, an American nurse living in Tokyo goes to work in a house that is haunted by the ghosts of a very violent death spree.

Here's the word for this movie - creepy! Scary! Not a blood bath, not gore, but scary. The writers and directors just did an outstanding job of keeping our interest and really making us spooked!

It's a great halloween movie!

Pueblo Tinseltown is the place - great (small amount) popcorn! Sprinkle cheese.

Overall rating - a 4!

UPDATED TO ADD - if you want a much better movie, watch Ju-on, the Japanese version that this movie was copied from. It's a much scarier movie. In fact, watch Ju-on first and you'll be happy that you did!
